My perfect client comes in one of two forms. However, for starters, they have much in common. Mostly, their lives are actually pretty good. For some, life is great, even awesome. They have nothing to complain about. They have everything to be grateful for. Yet, something’s not quite right. Sometimes they can’t put a finger on it. Sometimes, it’s obvious, but it seems impossible.
Some know exactly what they want.
For example, they want to lose weight, or they want to start a business, or they want a relationship that works. Usually, these clients have no idea how to get what they want. Many have already tried…repeatedly…without success. They aren’t getting the results they want, and they don’t know why. They don’t understand what’s not working, but it’s clear something’s not quite right. For some, the thing they want has eluded them since childhood. For others, there was a slow reckoning that something in their life is just no longer working. Maybe it’s a relationship. Maybe it’s a career.
Many, but not all, of these people, have something else in common: they quit. Maybe they tried so many times, unsuccessfully, they finally gave up in despair. Maybe someone told them what they want isn’t practical, so they forgot about it. Maybe they concluded there’d never be money or time or other resources to do what they really want. Unfortunately, none of these things makes the desire, the need, or the dissatisfaction disappear. It just keeps hanging around, gnawing at them, in the shower, on the drive home, when their mind wanders.
Some don’t really know what they want.
They don’t exactly know what they want, but, deep down inside, they’re not satisfied with what they’ve got. No matter how good their life may be, something’s missing. In the words of Johnson O’Connor, maybe they’re not using all their talents. But even with some sort of assessment results (all of which tell the test-taker where they might focus, not what will be the perfect thing for them), they still need to do the work to see what they really want to do. Unfortunately, there are very few opportunities for people in modern society to do the simple work, to see what they really want, and get in action to go get it. I offer that opportunity. This is where the real opportunities lie! True freedom and satisfaction are possible here.
