Why do I set goals?

  • I’ve learned I accomplish my biggest achievements after I find purpose and create a plan. As a general rule, these plans have evolved and become more specific over time.
  • Furthermore, the Johnson O’Connor organization helped me see I will tend be more successful when big goals and big results are involved.

My 2019 3rd Quarter Targets (and confidence level)

1. Objective: Be Fit

Key Result: Be well

  • Stay in the Landmark conversation (high) — Beyond Fitness Seminar Objectives:
    • Cardio: BQ, age group and overall Podium in local and regional triathlons and running events
      1. Return to regular training: running 3 or 4 days a week including a long run Saturday and a strength/speed/power run Wednesday, strides Monday, Friday’s off, cycling training with power twice a week, and 1 long ride or short, slow run on Sunday
      2. Walk a 14 minute mile or faster (accomplished)

  • Use Dr. Phil Maffetone’s aerobic approach to training on easy days (Sunday and Thursday) while I increase my mileage and return to strength and power training (Wednesday workouts with Rogue Running).
  • Cross-train cycling power Tuesdays/Thursdays, same as the year I ran my fastest marathon.
  • Walk increasingly faster
