For New Grads & the Parents Watching Them Search

Smart. Capable. And completely stuck in the job search.

Whether you're the one sending applications into the void, or you're watching your son or daughter go through it — "just apply to more jobs" isn't advice, and it isn't working. Here's what actually gets a first career off the ground.

Sound Familiar?

This has been going on for months now.

A real degree. Real effort. But somewhere between the diploma and an actual job, the search stalled — and it's been stuck there for a while. Whether you're living this firsthand or watching someone you love go through it, the pattern looks the same:

  • Applying to dozens of jobs with a generic resume and hearing nothing back
  • No clear way to explain what you're actually good at, or what role fits it
  • Confusing "keep options open" with having no target at all
  • Getting advice from family, friends, forums, and AI tools that all say something different
  • Losing a little more confidence with every month that passes

None of this means something is wrong with you, or your son or daughter. It means no one ever taught you how to run a real job search — because most people never get taught this at all. That's what this is for.

How This Works

We start with targeting — not another resume rewrite.

Most job-search help jumps straight to fixing the resume. That's backwards. Before we touch a single document, we figure out exactly which roles, industries, and companies actually fit — so every application, every conversation, and every hour of effort points at something specific instead of everything at once.

This is Get Your Best Job Ever, adapted for a first professional job search. It includes unlimited 1:1 coaching calls with me directly — as many sessions as it takes, including focused intensive working sessions where we go deep on targeting, positioning, and how to talk about experience that doesn't feel like "real" experience yet.

Targeting First

We define the specific roles and companies worth their time — so the search stops being a numbers game and starts being a strategy.

Unlimited 1:1 Calls

Not a course they'll abandon after week two. Real, live coaching with me, for as long as it takes to land the right role.

Positioning & Story

Internships, class projects, part-time work — we translate it into language hiring managers actually respond to.

Built to Adapt

If deeper clarity work surfaces along the way — a lot of new grads are also quietly unsure this is even the right field — we adjust instead of forcing a plan that doesn't fit.

"Some of the new grads I've worked with booked the first call themselves. For others, it was a parent who made the call — not because their son or daughter couldn't have eventually figured it out, but because a lost year of momentum costs a lot more than the coaching does. Either way in is fine. What matters is that the person actually doing the job search is willing to do the work."

Is This the Right Fit?

This is built for a specific situation.

✓  Good fit if you (or your son or daughter)…
  • Graduated recently (or is about to) and hasn't landed a real offer yet
  • Is applying broadly but not strategically
  • Struggles to describe strengths and value clearly in interviews
  • Is willing to show up and do the work — just needs direction
  • Would rather work with a coach than keep getting advice from family and friends
✗  Not the right fit if you (or they)…
  • Aren't willing to engage in the process at all
  • Want someone else to fill out applications for you
  • Have 10+ years of experience already — this is built for a career launch, not a mid-career pivot

I've spent 26 years leading teams and hiring people — I know what makes a hiring manager say yes and what makes them move on to the next resume. I work with new grads and early-career professionals to figure out exactly what they're aiming for, then build the plan and the confidence to go get it. Most parents can't be their kid's career coach — the relationship isn't built for it. That's exactly the gap I fill.

One call to find out what's actually in the way.

The Strategy Call is free, 60 minutes, and no-pressure. We'll talk through where the search is stuck and what a real plan looks like from here — for your son or daughter directly, or with you on the call too.

Common Questions

Before You Book

  • I'm the one job hunting, not a parent booking this for someone else — does this still apply to me? Yes. This program is built around your search either way — the targeting, positioning, and unlimited 1:1 structure work the same whether you booked it yourself or a parent helped set it up.
  • If a parent is booking this, should they be the one on the call, or their kid? Either works. Some parents book the first call to understand the process before looping their kid in; others have their child join from the start. What matters is that the person actually doing the job search is willing to do the work going forward.
  • Is this just a resume-writing service? No. We start with targeting — the specific roles and direction worth pursuing — before we touch the resume. A polished resume aimed at the wrong roles still doesn't work.
  • What if they don't have much "real" experience yet? That's the norm, not the exception, for a first job search. Internships, coursework, part-time jobs, and campus involvement all carry more weight than most new grads realize — once it's framed correctly.
  • What does the program cost? We don't quote pricing before the Strategy Call. The call itself is free and there's no obligation — if it's a fit, I'll walk you through the investment clearly on that call.
