What’s your answer to the question, who are you?
You may reply that you’re a project manager, a lawyer, an executive for Xyz company, etc…
Most people reply to that answer simply stating what their job is. By defining yourself with your job, you merely explain how you sustain yourself and what you do for most of the day. You describe a sector and a lifestyle that is stereotypically associated with that concept.
But is your job who you are?
You may identify with it if your job gives you energy, vitality, and excitement.
But otherwise, who are you?
It’s hard to think of an answer. From a young age, you were asked what you wanted to become when you grew up, referring only to your career.
Nobody asked you what lifestyle you aimed for or what things you wanted to achieve.
For a long time, I thought I was my job, even though it was pretty meaningless to me.
I had so many dreams and expectations I didn’t act upon because I was only focusing on one side of my life, which I didn’t even like that much!
Complaining also was part of who I became. Despite working twice as hard as others I couldn’t understand why I was passed promotion after promotion. On top of this, my life was falling apart in front of my eyes, my most important relationships were failing, and my health was a disaster.
You are meant for more
Then I decided to change. I wanted my life to be more than this. I wanted to be a new man.
To be a new man, I had to change everything about myself. Starting from how I was looking at the world and life in the broad sense.
I spent years studying and researching the way for me to be a new man that could bring me a life that suited me by utilizing my skills.
Pillars of satisfaction and success
I then discovered something fundamental that allowed me to be a new man: the man I’ve always wanted to be. I discovered the 4 pillars of satisfaction and success:
- Purpose. Finding and following your life purpose brings immense energy and motivation beyond anything you’ve experienced.
- Success mindset. This mental state leads you to accomplish all your goals independently of anything that happens around you.
- Positive relationships. Surround yourself with people who value you and support you for who you are.
- Leadership. We all rely on others, and being a leader means positively guiding and influencing those around you.
These 4 pillars have the power to transform your life, as they have changed mine and that of many others.
You’ll gain a work-life balance mentality that will allow you to experience life fully, bringing you the clarity and balance you need to achieve your goals and succeed in anything you want.
